## Overview

Cornerstone OnDemand is one of the largest corporate learning management systems. From 2023 they used [Hyperspace](https://jfcampos.dev/projects/hyperspace.md) for their own company events, under a platform subscription with single sign-on for their employees.

We did several projects with them: an integration with their LMS, a launch event, their 25th anniversary, an onboarding world for new hires and a kickoff for their services team.

## The LMS integration

We integrated our platform into Cornerstone OnDemand's learning management system through SCORM packages. Participants launched the 3D experiences straight from the LMS, with nothing to install, and their scores were reported back to it. Authors could update their experiences on our side without touching the LMS.

## Cornerstone Spark (2024)

Spark was the company-wide event where Cornerstone launched its new narrative, values and employee value proposition, in April 2024.

It ran as three regional sessions of three hours each, for Asia-Pacific, Europe and India, and the Americas, with one more session a week later. Employees started in a lobby where they set up their avatar, with a photobooth, swag and a scavenger hunt. Then they went to the auditorium for the keynotes, and to an exhibition hall with booths from different teams. There was also a "CornerSpa" to relax.

**2,672 participants** completed at least one achievement in the world, and they spent around 35 minutes per space on average. According to Cornerstone, 70% of their global workforce took part, and memberships of their Employee Resource Groups went up 261%.

## Explore25 (2025)

For their 25th anniversary in March 2025, Cornerstone wanted something people could do at their own pace, without hosted sessions. We built "Explore25: Global Metaverse Adventure", a quest through rooms themed on Cornerstone's offices, from Krakow and Pune to Santa Monica and Sydney.

Employees could visit each office, meet the people who work there and learn a bit about the place. They opened doors, collected coins, answered trivia and earned swag for their years at the company, with a leaderboard to compare. An expo hall had booths for the company's main themes, from AI to careers and sales.

## Onboarding in the metaverse (2025)

Cornerstone's new hires now go through an always-on world as part of their monthly welcome webinar. It has a lobby, an exhibition hall and the CornerSpa, with a feedback form and an AI bot being tested at one of the booths. The content is reviewed every quarter.

## Professional Services Kick Off (2026)

In April 2026 we ran a one-day kickoff for Cornerstone's services team, again in three regional sessions. It reused the onboarding lobby, and the exhibition hall had 14 audio zones for group discussions, roleplay training with Cornerstone's own AI product, a shout-outs whiteboard and a coin quest. 203 people took part.

## My involvement

- Oversaw development across all the projects.
- Supported the project owner on the technical side of building each world.
- Worked with the infrastructure team so the platform could handle the company-wide sessions.
