Defend your house using the ancient art of Connecting-Three-Of-A-Kind as everything's good and fair tonight! Each monster has a different gem, and connecting three will damage the respective evil-doer! It's almost Voodoo! Huzzah! Connect four or more gems for a chance of getting a fancy spell, and feel free to unleash their magic awesomeness upon your foes!
Overview
American Halloween Story is a tower defence game played on a match-3 board. Classic movie monsters walk towards your house in real time, and matching their gems is the only way to stop them.

After Spirit Fencer, we wanted to try its core mechanic, real-time match-3, in a different genre. It was made by a team of six at Melee Studios. We sold it to the publisher Frip Games in October 2012, just in time for Halloween, and they released it on Kongregate and Newgrounds.
My involvement
- Directed the game, from the concept and design to the end of production.
- Adapted Spirit Fencer's real-time match-3 to the new genre.
- Wrote the specs for the artists on character placement and animations.
